Mac and Cheese with Mushrooms
I box of Mac and Cheese 4 oz mushrooms sliced ¼ cup onion, chopped 2 Tablespoons of oil Salt and pepper Milk per box butter per box
Bring a 6-quart pasta pot three fourths full with salted water to a boil for pasta. Cook pasta in boiling water until al dente and ladle out and reserve 1 cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta in colander.
While pasta is draining, heat oil in the same pot as used to boil the pasta. Sauté mushrooms and onion, stirring occasionally, until golden and tender, about 7 minutes. Add milk and butter to the mushroom mixture. Stir in cheese packet and mix well. Stir in pasta and add more pasta water as needed if mixture becomes too dry. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add more water if need to bring sauce together. Serve pasta with additional cheese.
